This answer is in response to your question posted about HIV/AIDS.

Well, it all depends on the person. We all have different body chemistries and immune systems.

I treat a lot of patients with HIV, not so much full blown AIDS patients due in part to all of the HIV cocktail meds that are out there on the market now.

Sometimes an HIV positive patient will have what is called Primary HIV syndrome which usually comes on about 4-6 weeks after first exposure. It feels exactly like the flu, fever, body aches, rashes, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, congestion, swollen lymph nodes, etc but quickly goes away without any sequelae.

Like I said, it depends on the person. Full blown AIDS usually takes years after first exposure but there are always the few who progress rapidly.

What is interesting and we still do not know why this happens, but females tend to develop full blown AIDS a lot quicker than males do. Infants born to positive mothers can rapidly develop full blown AIDS if not treated.

So the answer to your question is "variable". But most of the time it is several years to going from being just HIV positive to having full blown AIDS.

It dosent take 10 months please. every body is different. Listen....some people are walking around this earth and not knowing if they are infected or not....it would take time like 10 years or more to start showing symptoms please it does take a while for it to be full blown aids is if you dont have a test and see signs like symptoms and no drug treatement it is detremental to your health and remember it shuts down your immune system which you are prone to dieases and coomon things like flu and stuff which could be devastating

It takes around 10 months to 15 years according to the disease taken. The HIV Patients take in diease because they lose the power of their immune system.
