Before you spend any money or listen to someone who might lead you astray. Go to Wikipedia for a lowdown on the Small Business Association (SBA) Good basic info there and a link to its website. You can find out about making a business plan, financing your business, marketing and sales. Good luck!!!

You need to pick a place that has a lot of foot traffic... have you ever heard the saying it about the ..location..location..location

find a place where there is not too many bakery places around , and if there is, try to heat up the competition, try giving away free samples, build up the clientele, look to see what other businesses are doing, and do the exact opposite, don't spend too much on advertisment unless you can afford it. Shoot try selling the food out of your house until you find the perfect place.

Here's some basic advice I can offer on starting a business in general.

Quality bakery products is more a commitment by the baker than anything else. Now you also say with minimum budget, then it is upto you with budget constraints how much quality can you produce.

You may go for good quality, less number of items; then your business volume, product variety etc. may get affected. Competition may beat you.

Sit down with cool head and see with the budget limitations, what and how much can you produce and market? If you find feasibility positive, then only go for the venture.

I'd also suggest that you talk to as many bakery owners as possible. They started somewhere too. Get their advice and benefit from their experience. If you have the time and resources, industry conferences are a good opportunity to meet others and get advice as well.

The websites below are not in any particular order. You can use these as a starting point and broaden your search from there.

    Good luck with your venture.

You need to write a business plan, explaining:

    1) Why you want to start your business

    2) How it will benefit consumers

    3) Basic calculations on predicted cash flow

    4) How you intend to go about gathering and spending your money.

These are only some of the things you will need to explain, you can find out more by googling the term 'business plan'

You will need to present your plan to a bank or business funding organisation who will then give you a loan, or donate some funding to you to start your business.

It may also be a great idea to do some market research in various possible locations (questionnaires, interviews) on local consumers on what they want from a bakery, or indeed if they want one at all.

Compile your data and add this in to your sales pitch when trying to obtain cash to get you started, to show your taking this seriously and mean business.

    Good Luck!

take as much advice as possible before parting with any money... write a business plan.. or take advice on doing this.

How much do you want this business to pay you..

    what hours will you work..

will you hire people.. (finding good people who share your dreams is the hardest part... most people just want the money and dont care about the business... YOUR business)

whats your USP ... if you dont know... find out !!

is there demand for your business ?

If its food.. you will have to jump through hoops to satisfy the health regulations...

but if its your passion... go for it.... make a plan and work it every day and good luck

There was a place where I went to college that delivered cookies and milk. They seemed pretty successful. They advertised in the student newspaper.
