    It has NOTHING to do with Tyra Banks.

    It originated in the 1970s as a way to describe drag queens... usually black.

    So... it is a gay term...

    "Ooooh Guuuuuurl You look FIERCE!"

    Tyra Banks, she's the one that started this whole 'fierce' fad. These days girls don't look good anymore, they look 'fierce'!

    So basicly 'fierce' means good. Just like in hip hop on how the terms 'sick', 'ill' and 'bad' all means good.

    it's not only associated with models, it has been used as an adjective to describe how good someone looks for quite a while now.
