Network Problem with Windows 98/ME?

I've dual boot OS (Win Me & Win XP). I keep win me to run a software which don't run in Win XP. I've peer to peer network. When I try to access other computers in the network using Windows ME, It failed to handle password. For example, there is a computer name "Penguin", in which I need user name & password to access it's files. It works well with XP but when I try to login using Windows ME or 98 there is no option for "username". It directly wants password showing the user name "\\penguin\IPC$". How Can I get rid of this problem?

Update:

Many folders shared & others are already working with them

Update 2:

At last I found the solution. You've to create & login with same username (windows login) & password which is identical with the remote pc's network share password, in which u want to access from network. Thanks.

If the opposite two computer systems are XP, cross to manipulate panel folder choices View tab and on the very backside of the record, ensure that no one is making use of Simple File Sharing. Simple dossier sharing is the Devil- turning it off will have to continuously be step one of troubleshooting any networking drawback. I do not consider Home has the choice to show it off. Simple dossier sharing gets rid of the capability to set permissions on records and folders. When it's on, it normally assumes that no one has permission. If that doesn't paintings, controll panel create new consumer- make a brand new consumer account of something kind you wish at the two different computer systems, and ensure it has a password. That would get you a immediate for a consumer title and password, and you'll be able to use what you simply made. If that doesn't paintings, improve to Pro- Home was once designed to be crippled whilst it talks to different machines. It is flawlessly first-rate for whatever besides if you have different computer systems or more than one customers, after which it's crippled.

I think the peer-to-peer connection is not set in the correct manner. Please follow the instructions mentioned in the following weblink and re-configure the peer-to-peer connection.
