Yes, four years ago my Mum died of cancer and I myself got diagnosed with a lifetime illness. I was at rock bottom for a long time. I was having to take loads of medication, felt ill all the time, was unable to work and basically wanted out. I then decided to go to Mexico and it was while I was there that I had some kind of awakening. All around me was poverty, neglect and abuse of good human beings. People were really unwell, both physically and mentally, but had no access to health care or drugs. It made me realise how fortunate I was. Although it didn't take away the things that had happened to me, it helped me to come to terms with my Mums death and my own illness. I am now the happiest I have been for a long time, and finally I am putting my life back together. So, yeah I guess you could say I had a glimmer of hope, and that there is definitely a light at the end of the tunnel.

you never really loose everything, but you can loose the thing that matters most to you; When it happened to me, I learnt from my experience, and I worked very hard and eventually I was able to get much more than what I lost; I still occasionally feel bitter about my loss, but it is this that drives me to always change to the better, and when I think of what I was, and what I now am I feel proud and all my bitterness goes away.

The moral here is that you can loose some thing that you love so dearly, but it doesn't mean that all is lost, unless if you decide not to do anything about it, in which case I guarantee that you'll only be increasing your loss and less willing to accept it with each passing day.

My advice is to get the most out of your loss experience, and accept it, then promise yourself that you won't let it happen again, and do your best to keep your promise, but in a constructive way. and in the long run your loss might turn into a valuable gift... but if it doesn't happen don't feel sorry for yourself, because having a great loss only means that you had something great to begin with, and having that great something in the first place (even if for a limited time) is a gift that many people never had a chance to experience.

I agree, prayer is the most powerful thing which can help us no matter how deep we were in some trouble...but most people just forget to turn to it....God is there to help people..even sometimes He test us with soem problems..and this is where we can turn to Him for help...and discover amazing feeling..We don't know when the prayer will be answered, but we should never loose hope :)

Definitely! Faith in God makes this happen. Reading the Bible, especially the Psalms, and trusting in God have brought me through horrendous situations. God also answers prayer even though the answers sometimes take longer than we would like.

Yep... the glass if half full or half empty etc etc....

But seriously, if you don't embrace that kind of thing (whatever your beliefs may be) then you might as well accept your life will be sh*t anyway...
