Is Elder Scrolls: Oblivion worth buying an xbox 360 for?

No way, having played the game i can tell you while it is awesome it is obvious that bethesda released it far too early, everyone i know who has it on computer has downloaded modes extensively to improve it.

If you have xbox360 go ahead and buy but since you can't download modes the experience will be less than what you would get on comp, however it is still a pretty good game.

But it ain't so good that you would buy a console just to play it.

ok, it is a VERY good game, i personally have it for the pc and you wouldnt believe how much tweaking my computer needed to run it, but anyways, dont but a 360 just for this game. personally, i dont have a 360 but am planning to get one once the prices drop. i think i can wait awhile, not too many worth it games have been released so far. eaither way, oblivion is an incredible game, its just not worth paying so much for a system that still doesnt have all the bugs worked out yet. be patient, and wait as long as you can. it'll save you big time
