Better talk to a lawyer on that. You're asking folks from all over and we don't know Texas law. Call up the Texas State Bar Association, this is the association that lawyers are licensed through. Ask them for a "REFERRAL" to an attorney in your area for that type of law. In my state, a one-hour consultation with an attorney that the bar referrs is only $35.00 and WORTH it! In that hour I have a good idea of what I need to do. Try this in your state.

The only way to remove your name from the contract is if your ex were to refinance the loan under her name only. You wouldn't be responsible for monthly payments unless it is something that was settled in court and documented. This way she'll have the car and the monthly payments.

Don't ever co-sign. The person who wants and/or needs a co-signer has lousy credit to begin with.
