ask at a paint store for the exact methods. there are things for painting cement that might work, i think you need to go over your ceramic with a sander to rough up the surface a little then use a primer that the paint store suggests for that sort of surface, then they make a specific paint that goes on cement floors and it comes with a package of colored flecks, you put down the paint and then scatter the colored flecks on it, then likely it needs a special sealer on top, this way you have a base color and some secondary color in it to give it some pizazz. then that will determine what color to do the walls, shower curtain and so on.

pop in to your local paint / hardware store and ask for a tile paint.... they will advise you for the best product depending on your location :D
here is a step by step guide to paint a tile... maybe have read and decide if you want to start your painting project.... god luck
Surface preparation
All surfaces should be clean, dry and free from dust, mould growth, grease and grout residues. Tiles must be in good condition and firmly adhering.
Before surface preparation, read the information in the Safety, Health And Environmental Information section about old lead paints.
For Ceramic/Glazed tiles; no primer or undercoat are required. For best results, lightly scuff the tile surface with wet & dry abrasive paper and a solution of water and washing up liquid. Rinse with clean water and allow to dry before painting.
How to use
Stir thoroughly with a palette knife or similar implement before use. Do not thin.
Apply 1 or 2 coats of Realife Tile Paint using a synthetic brush or a short pile mini-roller. Apply liberally and evenly to avoid runs and sags. Do not overspread.
Where a strong colour change is involved, 2 or more coats may be required. Allow 4 hours drying time between coats.
Do not use when the room temperature is below 10°C or in damp, humid conditions. Not suitable for use on radiators and other heated surfaces.
Under normal drying conditions, the paint is touch dry within 2 hours and re-coatable after 4 hours

Try an epoxy-based paint. I would test paint an out-of-the-way tile first, let it dry and then expose it to the kind of use the rest of the floor will get to see how it will hold up.
