Who else is tired of questions about faster-than-light travel?

This question gets asked a few times a day, every day. I appreciate that people are curious about light and relativity and want to understand it, but would it hurt to look at what has already been said on this topic before being the 100th person in the last month to ask about it?

It's not nearly as bad as the perpetual 'Is 1=.9999....?' or 'If man evolved from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?' questions. What bothers me more is the people that get thses questions wrong and still get 'Best Answer'.

  • It isn't nearly as bad as the exact same question asked over two, three, or even more than three categories at the same time. As least I can attribute this to not looking at previous questions of the same type.

Actually, it's certain answers that get on my crawl, such as "Do your own homework" or "Beats me". At least a valid question should have some respectful answer, otherwise I say don't answer at all. Just my opinions for whatever it's worth.

Source(s): My opinions, as stated before. :-)

Hi. Open your mind. Physics actually allows faster than light speeds, it just bars travel AT the speed of light. Look up "tachyons" and you'll find a whole realm of ideas. Also consider than quantum mechanics and the "fine-structure constant" both seem to allow jumping from just under to just over the speed of light. This does not mean it's true, of course, just possibly possible.

Somebody's going to travel the velocity of light even if they have to fund it themselves.Wouldn't you like to be there?
