Why are ants so keen on colonizing my laptop?

May be it has sugar in between the cracks. Mind you they used to do this to my Grandmothers phone it barely worked. Nobody knew why. But they loved it and would keep getting in where they could. Do you think that your ants are from the same colony?

It m ight be the areas you live in, i dont have a problem with ants. But i get fleas. I have alot of pets.

Heat usually attract bugs, and of course, the smell of food. Try not eating near your laptop, and wash your hands, after you eat, even tiny traces of the scent of um-ums would cause them to clutter up your electronics. Clean out your key board of crumbs or dead skin, with a can of air. if it really nags you, lightly spray a damp cloth with bug spray, and wipe it over your keys lightly, and then place, the pretty much dry, cloth, under you laptop, as you would a table cloth. dont leave it there too long, especially if you're using your computer.

Dont keep food, soda, or anything else near your laptop. and move it often, bugs usally dont like being moved around....

At some point some food or drink has been spilt on your laptop. that is all the ants are inretested in. You might see if you can clean it or get it cleaned. Nothing else you can do really!

Ants are drawn to the warmth and the electronics. Becareful ant excrement can eat up circuit boards.

Bugs can and are drwn to the warmth and frequency from electrical appliances. Computers are a great source for both and provide things for them to chew on.
