When it comes to drinking your 8-10 glasses of water per day...can unsweetened tea be substituted for water?
I like to drink Lipton Iced Tea either unsweetened or with a little Sweet N Low...can this replace some of the recommended glass of water you need each day?

No. The reason Doctors recommend 8-10 glasses of water a day is a it is healthy b it helps filter out toxic waste out of your system and if you try and replace Tea in its place then it is only adding extra stuff into your system. If your doctor said 8-10 water a day the you should follow the advise. you will feel healther and because your are healther then you feel happier.

The "fact" that you need all that water is just BS -- a passing fad and the sooner it is gone the better. I NEVER drink water, only tea and sometimes coffee. (With a glass or two of wine or beer before bedtime.) I've done that for over 35 years, and my doctor says I'm about the healthiest one in her practice. Sure water is okay -- but it's a lot better with the anti-oxidents and other good things that tea gives it.

The tea is mostly water but it (like coffee)is also a diuretic. This will cause you to dehydrate (urination). Water is still the best way to get water. Tea is better than soda and many other drinks but not as good as water itself.

As long as it does not contain caffeine it's okay. Caffeine is dehydrating.
Try replacing the sweet n low with stevia though. Sweet n Low is an artificial sweetener and they are not good for you. As bad or worse than sugar. Stevia is a low calorie natural herbal sweetener. It comes in power or liquid form. I suggest the liquid form.

I think something got substituted for your brains because man that was a stupid question! (P.S. it's not pure water but check the ingredients list on the can or bottle...duh! I'm sure that you'll see what you're looking for right at the top of the list!)

Anything sans sugar can be substituted.Your body requires fluids-if you want to give it plain water or falvoured water is upto you.

Probably not. Tea has other things in it (such a caffeine) that the body doesn't need.

no, tea contains caffeine, which dehydrates you more. water is water. nothing else is
