Do Ipods carry Viruses?
OK, my wife bought a used Ipod NaNo at a garage sale. I hooked it up my computer, and a few nights later, everything was fried!! I lost my processor, motherboard, and I don't know what else. There was an electrical storm the night before I found these problems, so I believe that's what fried my system. But the wife believes the Ipod has something to do with it. And now that I have bought a new computer, she will not allow the Ipod to be hooked up to it. The easy way out I know, is to chuck the Ipod and buy a new one. But I'm a cheap S.O.B. Any thoughts?

My experience tells me that it was an electrical problem that killed your computer--not some virus.

Definitely it was the electrical storm. A computer virus cannot fry your hardware...at least, I think it can't. There's a possibility that an iPOD may carry a virus since it's also typically a storage device.

The last answer was logical. Most viruses are .exe files. Your ipod only contains .mp3 files. What fried the computer was a surge of about 3,000 volts of lighting!

No they do not, because IPODS do not have executable files, unless you dragged an infected file from your PC then Yes it is possible.
But, it will still require you to execute the program in order for it to infect the IPOD.
