If your Windows-98 CD is bootable:

    ---------------------------------------------

Then you can go to your BIOS setup (press F2 or whatever your machine needs, at the initial screen while your system boots up) and change the boot sequence to boot from CD first. Restart machine with the 98 CD in your drive after this change. That will boot to required version of DOS from the 98 CD and you are ready to go to run the setup.exe from DOS prompt.

    If CD is not bootable:

    ---------------------------

You can find lot of websites using search engine which allows you to download a bootable image of DOS that can be used to boot to Win-98 compatible DOS version. If you have a floppy drive, then get it on a floppy which will help you avoid changing your BIOS (to boot from CD first). Otherwise, you will have to burn the download image onto a CD and again follow the BIOS change as mentioned in above section (bootable 98 CD).

    Good Luck !!

The windows 98 disk will boot for you. Unless it is an upgrade cd???

If you need to create a floppy boot disk, look in the format options.
