Is the car shaking when completely stopped or when it is slowing to a stop, or both?

If it is when she is coming to a stop, I would check the brakes, if she just had them worked on, maybe they left a rotor loose, or torqued the lugnuts improperly and may have warped a rotor. If the rotor is warped she will feel a vibration in the brake pedal.

If she feels the vibration when she is completely stopped then I would check the fuel filtet and motor and transmission mounts.

If the car shakes when it is stopped and at idle, you can try to locate the source of the vibration.

There is a problem with the brake system. Take the car in for inspection at a certified repair shop (not the one that installed the brakes). There may be problems with other parts but definitely with the brake system. She can aways call the tappet brothers, Click and Clack. They have a radio call in show every Sat. morning at 10am on NPR. Sounds like you need a brake job. your rotors may be warped.

Take it back to the mechanic who did the work. Explain what's happening and have him test drive it.
