Has anyone moved from San Diego CA to OR or WA state, and any regrets?
I am attracted especially to Oregon because I think the people are probably more environmental. Politics of OR and WA probably are preferable to CA's too I suppose. Any stories?? (I'm an ex-New Yorker)

I live in San Diego and moved for a year to Oregon.
What a bunch of rednecks! Couldnt wait to get the hell outta there and back to a real life again.
I know nothing about Washington.

Yes! Moved from Pacific Beach to Corvallis Oregon to go to OSU. I lasted 9 months and not a minute longer. As soon as I finished my last final exam, I jumped in my Ryder moving truck and never looked back.
And it was because of jackass people like the person who said, "we're full" they hate californians, but if you look at where all there money comes from, its California.
If I were you I would keep driving past that crap hole and head for Seattle. The people are a lot nicer and not so f'ing smug.

I've lived in Washington all my life. I love it over here. It rains a lot in Seattle but not as much as it use to. Oregon gets a lot more rain. It is a beautiful state. I'm sure it's a much slower pace over here than NY. Are you looking to move to a big city or small town?
