Danes (or Danish speakers), can you help with this question?

If a Danish man says "I love you", what is his beloved's response (as an American woman who feels likewise would reply, "I love you too")? Is the Danish equivalent "Jeg elsker dig også"?

Update:

Added details: Thanks for the answers so far. Paul, I'm studying Danish, but language software and lexicon books aren't always helpful for what I need. I'm working on a writing project (fiction). Some of my characters are Danes. I can't pinpoint exactly why, but Denmark has fascinated me all my life. From what I've learned, common expressions in English are not always formed the same way in other languages. For instance, there is no Danish equivalent to "please", but there are several phrases that mean the same thing. I don't wish to mangle this beautiful language in my writing, as I still have much to learn. So many thanks for your response!

Yah, it's right. Why do you ask when you seem to know already?
