refundable or non-refundable?

That sounds like their cancellation policy.

In this world of cheap bookings on-line, sometimes if you can get the cheapest rate that includes 1 or more of these features - booked way in advance; paid for up front; non-refundable.

Cancellation policies are usually pretty good. Refundable if you let a hotel know a day ahead and it is usually no cost to you. But they are all different. Some are a week ahead, some are before 4PM day of check in. You can lose a deposit, you can lose a full night room charge.

And in the non-refundable case, it usually means you got a good rate, with the trade off being you better be sure that you are going! There are no refunds.

Having said that, I got stuck in transit once when my flight didn't go. I called the hotel, which was non-refundable and said I was stuck and would be a day late. They refunded it and I got a free hotel that night paid for by the airline.

Refundable is a little more because , they will hold your room until the day you check in and if you do not check in they wont charge you.

Non refundable is a little less because they will charge your CC the amount of the hotel if you do not call to cancel within 48hrs of check in.(usually 48 hours)

I think your better off w/ the non refundable .Most people know within a 48 hr period of travel wether or not they are going to make it. And its Cheaper
