Is anybody else sick and tired of bi-lingual packaging, ATMS, customer service recording, advertising, & signs

Why do I have to tell my Bank of AMERICA ATM machine that I speak English? I'm an American in America. Why do I have to push "1" whenever I want to speak English to a customer service rep? Why do I have to flip boxes around to find the English label?

I can understand, from a service or business-based standpoint, why a company/agency would do it. However, here is my answer.... YES, I AM SICK TO DEATH OF IT!!! We complain about illegals (especially on the welfare and social security front) but we make it illegal-friendly.... Does everyone know that a person having difficulty filing for disability or food stamps or other government aid can get free help just because they don't speak English, but not because of problems like dyslexia or low (but not retarded) IQ? So if you are a US-born, hardworking American who just has a problem filling out the forms (maybe because of ADD, for example) you may not be able to get any help, and therefore not get the aid to which you are entitled if you are laid off or injured, but if you were born in Mexico and never paid taxes, but came here to have 18 kids on welfare, the government will get you a translator and have them fill out the forms for you.... Of course they want to come here, we make it easy. We have one primary language under law in this country, decided on so that all immigrants, with all their different origins, speaking Farsi, German, Mandarin, or Russian would all have one language they would all have to know. This was to sort of force this melting pot to blend, to give us a reference point, and let us all communicate on at least that one level to lessen confusion and keep us from becoming many seperate factions. That's what's happening, and it's sad. Plus, why can't my mother push 17 for blackfoot or my father push 6 for German? I am sick to death of Mexicans being treated special in this country, and it's time for everyone to stop before this country goes down the crapper like Mexico. They screwed up their own country and now they want to come here to live until this country is screwed, and then move on to Canada, I guess.

Oh yeah, I guess we have NO NATIONAL LANGUAGE on the governments books, but we ought to. I want ANY Citizen that is made a Citizen to pass and reading and writing and SPEAKING test, which is varied so often they can't pass answers along and cheat with other family members. We speak English in this country. Mexicans, need to learn English it's as simple as that.. we don't have press 3 for Italian, press 4 for Arabic, press 5 for French? Right? Quebec is right on the US Border too, and mostly a French Province of Canada, and I don't hear .. press 3 for French, because if they moved here (they don't like us much), they would have the decency to blend in and RESPECT the culture by learning about it, and speaking in English in public outings. I just think it's rude. If you don't like Mexico as a home, come legally, learn our culture, and if you like yours better, you have 2 choices, live it at your house in the USA and leave it at 'home' or go HOME to Mexico and live your culture there. Either way, it's called respect and it seems to be what Mexico lacks more than any other country I know of at this time. And that's a shame. I don't want criminals here .. or more of them and if we accept Illegal Aliens from ANY NATION we are accepting criminals as they broke the law to get in the door. I think we have enough crime..... no thanks.

Source(s): ** Softenthecorners ** I have been to a few other countries and I would do my very best to speak in their language first, as that is called respect. I know not everyone is like that, and I might butcher it to hell, but they'd at least know I tried very hard to communicate with them they way they talk in their everyday lives.

Multiple languages is fine....but there must be a common language for a country to be united. When the common threads of a group are fragmented the group is less strong...this goes for government, country, family, sports teams. It may be politically correct to say hey it is their language so just let them speak it....but the example said by my grandfather who came here not speaking English in 1903, I came here to be part of this country, to leave where I was, not to make it like where I had just left. We need a common language if for no other reason than to unite us and to cut down on bigotry for the intolerant selfish few that can not accept differences....

Samoa Joe is a good wrestler that should've been champion by now. Samoa Joe was one of the hardest working TNA wrestlers on the roster. He is nowhere near overrated. He used to work TNA shows and ROH shows without missing a single one. He dominated the X Division, including AJ Styles, and he does moves better than a lot of people smaller than him. If you hate cocky, whiny heels, you shouldn't like Kurt Angle.

These enterprises obviously think it's good for business to offer their goods and services in a bilingual fashion. That's called capitalism, and that's the American way.

Hey man, it's cuz America is multi-lingual! It's not so unusual, you know. Lots of countries have two or more languages, why shouldn't we?

Its what you call life my friend..I don't like it as much as you do..but its called life, and people are taking life and this country, and giving it up to people who didn't die to defend it, and make it free in the first place, men who do not know how much blood it has taken for us to keep our freedom...but,,I could go on and on, and I'd still just tell you, "its life"

Yes, I am. I strongly believe that if you are going to live in America, then learn the language !!! It is simple as that. It would be no different that going to a foreign country. Do you really think that they would do all of this for us?. I think not.

That's because the U. S. A. ha sno official language, and also because there is a very large Spanish speaking community. If producers didn't write all the information in other languages, they would lose costumers.
