i cant play a .avi file due to some codecs not installed can i know the name of the codecs i need to install??

Get VLC Player All... codecs are already installed in the program... It works with most operating systems and opens just about any video file...

Go to the provided link and get the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. This is a must have for everyone. It will give you what you need.

I don't know if that's your problem, but
the most common codec is divx (www.divx.com)
the other popular codec is K-lite ( just search for it, it's easy to find)
and .avi file DO work in windows media player

You need Ligos-Indeo-Codec for paly some avi file

IF u are trying to play them in windows media player .avi files wont work there. u need to download Divx -its free!

look u can use divx but i dont recomend it download VLC media player is a free media player and it can play almost all video and audio fromats and its free . go to www.downloads.com and type in search VLC and u will find it .
