I try to stay as cool as I can. I do the yard work ealy in the morning, when it is cooler. I make sure I am hydrated before I go outside, and keep hydrated, and come in and cool off frequently. I check the weather, and pick the coolest day of the week to shop, I take my cooler and my cold pack and put my ice cream and frozen foods in it to bring them home safely from the grocery, the refrigerated food goes with me in the airconditioning. The nearest grocery store is quite a distance.

I bought a casual dress and some sandals to wear, it is so much cooler than jeans or pants.

So, I am doing pretty well, got a little overheated today, I was doing the one more chore before I go inside thing, and that was stupid, I had a headache for awhile.

It's supposed to be hot all week, and no one has mentioned rain, and the humidity is supposed to be higher. My garden does not exist, everything is stunted, or dying, or already dead. My privitt hedge is going into it"s late fall cycle, dropping leaves, and it is only August.

So, are you OK where you are? Thanks for inquiring about the rest of us.

And yes, food prices are going up more, with the drought, and the high price of gasoline, it can only get worse. Things do not go up a few cents, they go up 25%. Graham crackers went up 50 cents.

We are doing pretty good & yes it is very hot here in Mo. gardens are burning up, we haven't had to mow any grass the heat has made sure of that, as high as gas is I guess that could be a good thing. We stay in alot as we are older people, but we still work in our gardens, after it cools some in the evening, today we picked our corn & worked it up & got it put inthe freezer. I hope you are staying cool where you are. I worry about people who can"t afford running their air conditioners, someone should be there to help them.It is a sad thing.

165 people died in California from this heat wave, which is now in your area but lets not believe in global warming because our president doesn't want us to and doesn't care if your food prices go up or you have none, but be sure to vote for his party next election.
