Where do I buy children's clothes to sell on ebay?

I'm researching ways to make money as a stay at home mom. I would love to sell children's clothes on Ebay. But I have no idea where to purchase items wholesale. I live in the D.C. area. What other items could I sell?

I hate when I ask a question and some nut answers it with another question. Don't you hate that? Oops, I just did it myself lol. Anyway, if you want to sell used clothing, you could try a high end consignment shop or even high end thrift stores. Start out small, and then if you start doing well, try discount department stores such as Ross, Burlington Coat Factory, Marshalls, TJ Maxx (if you have these in your area). Once you get established with enough feedback (people like to buy from an established ebayer with GOOD feedback) then you could look for wholesalers. Here is one site that lists alot of wholesalers: http://www.apparelsearch.com/wholesale_clothing/Ch...

Oh one more thing, you can try going to clearance sales at Gymboree (end of seasons sales are great - save it for next season) Baby Gap, Gap Kids, anything brand name sells well on eBay.

Before doing any of the above be sure to research those products on eBay. It may help to sniff around the eBay user forums too. Look up similar items that you want to sell and make sure you see plenty of sales (NOT just listings) but actual bids on these items. That way you will know if there is true potential.

Do not type "wholesale" into the search engines, all you will get is a bunch of scams.

I have bought and sold baby clothes on Ebay. I have been really happy with what I have gotten & SAVED over buying clothes in stores. I purchased entire wardrobes for the price I would have paid for a few outfits. I make sure the seller has good feedback & I wash the clothing before I let my son wear them. As far as selling, expect to take a lot of pictures and write a detailed discription. Clothing sells better in "lots" of similar sizes/seasons. I always start the bids off low (like 50 cents each piece) and go from there. The more name brands the more you will get from your lot Hope this helps!

Just go to any department stores and buy things that are on clearance for a buck or two, and then put them into lots of clothing. They have to be marketable, fashionable clothes, with good name brands though. I sold tank tops that I bought for a dollar, in lots of 3 for like over $10. I sold a full set of American Girl Books- 48 chapter books that I found for free, for $200. Anything around your house that you don't want or need will probably sell. Start out with low bids- like 99 cents and bids will go up on things people want.

    Good luck.

Here in Nova Scotia, we have this awsome used-clothing-in-bins-store called "Frenchy's"...ever heard of it? EVERYONE goes there to get clothes to sell on ebay, or wear.(interesting...all the clothes at frenchy's are rejects from American retailers) So, you need to find a store like that in your area...second-hand consignment shops, The Salvation Army, and check out the sales racks at the malls to see if you can get any bargains. If you feel too embarassed to root around in bins and through second-hand clothes, then you won't make much of a profit!

Go to store closeouts....clearance sales (60% off)....Handbags...go to yard sales for odds N ends stuff that sells really fast...If you go to New York city For the day go to the fashion district you can get clothes wholesale if you purchase 12 or more....

Why don't you just start your own business instead of doing something like that?
