Carbohydrates mostly. Protein and sugars give some energy but carbohydrates are the healthiest energy source.

As for salt - you want as little salt as possible. The recommendation is 6g a day (an egg spoon)

I doubt if it is salt that you are lacking, most foods you eat have lots of added salt. Drink lots of water throughout the day, it really makes you feel better. Eat a banana before you go to the gym, it gives you instant energy and stay off the energy drinks. Works for me.

Drinking gatorade during your workout or before would be a good boost. If your looking for a quick boost in the gym just for that time, chocolate may help, if you dont eat alot of chocolate or sugers, gatorade maybe. or for a real good boost there are "gel shots" that are made by power bar, 30min before a workout eat one of those and drink right away like a liter of water and youll have plenty of energyto last.

If in general you may be feeling fatigue carbs at night may be a good choice, maybe if you have more supplmentation like taking amulti vitammn, or try haveing 4-5 mealsa daty, which would be 3 normal meals and inbetween those have granola bars or nutrigrain bars, they are great and the slight more amount of calories may just be what you need.

Somtimes when im working out i feel really tired and sluggish, and getting myblood moving and getting a really good sweat before i do anything straining helps me out alot, so maybe hard sprints before you go workout with a nice break after would help you out, personally i have had great success with that.

Excessive sweating goes with loss of water and salt. Just a little dehydration can have symptoms such as tiredness. Drink sports drinks because they have the correct amount of salts, metabolites, minerals etc. that you need. Also ensure that you have enough nutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, minerals and vitamins) and that you replenish your nutrient loss after exercising. It could also be your body's way of telling you to have a rest. You should have some rest from the gym every now and then to give your body to recover from the wear & tear.

drink plenty of water before, during and after! If you feel your diet is fine and you need a wee bit more try drinking lucazade sport while at the gym ( I do and recommend it )

More like your sugar levels have dropped. For a quick fix have a Lucozade.
