Why are people ready to kill or be killed for their religion?

That is why it is time to say good bye to all religions, and to live as plain vanilla human beings, without any flavour. Would you like to kill somebody because he does not like or hates the ice-cream you like. So what better pleasure can a religion give you that an ice-cream can't.

The vast majority of people of any faith are not "ready to kill" for their religion.

As for being killed for it -- millions and millions of Christians have been killed because of their faith over the ages.

Because they believe...when you believe something so dearly, you'll die for it. When people believe in something even if it isn't religion (could just be a person) they never want to hear bad about it.

Just like if you have a sibling or a spouse or a child that you truly believe in...You'd do anything to protect their name cause you believe in them

God can be you friend(He should be everyone's best friend). would you die for you best friend or dad or mom? if you want to have that kind of relationship w/ the God of the universe you need to pray that he would help you to see and grow toward Him. I would never take another life to prove what I believe, but I would gladly give my life to protect what you believe.

Because they have something you can't understand . . . conviction.

Something do have more value than a video game or pot.
