Make copies of the paid bill and send that along with a note to the 3 main credit bureau's . I've provided links for the contact information for all 3 below this should do the trick for you. It would be a good idea to name the collection agency involved also and that you want it removed quickly and feel this collection agent acted inappropriately.

What you need to do is get a copie of your credit report - one from all three bureaus - you are able to get a free one from each bureau once a year. When you receive the copies call the number and tell the person you speak with that you need to dispute the hospital bill as your insurance having paid it and it should never have been placed on the file. The credit bureau will dispute it for you by contacting the collection agency for you. Then they will notify you of the results. Also tell the credit bureaus that you have proof and ask for the fax # to send it to them. The other option is to contact the collection agency directly and show your proof and ask them to remove the info from your credit file. Make sure if you do this you check your file to be sure they have removed it. You can also send an online dispute to the credit bureaus. To make this easier you can ask the collection agency which credit bureaus they are a member of - those would be the only ones they report the info to.

The three agencies are equifax experian and transunion. Good luck!

Before we begin, let's go over the rules.....

Credit reporting agencies can NOT remove listings from your credit history. The only time they can do it is if the creditor/collection agent fails to respond to an investigation request within 30 days.

The credit/collection agent has the ability to remove this item immediately! Getting them to do it is the hard part.

In your case, you are already armed! You have evidence that this bill is paid. So with this evidence, I suggest that you follow the my advice. If this is not taken care of very quickly you can easily win $1000 from the creditor for violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, for posting unvalidated information to your credit histor. It's easy to do and you don't need a lawyer.

First, send all your letters by certified mail/return receipt so you can prove they were notified. You can call these people if you wish, but try proving it in court if they don't fix this problem.

Send a dispute letter to each of the credit reporting agency who is listing this. Send them a copy of your bill and insurance company information showing it was paid.

Then send a letter to whoever placed this information on your credit report. Demand that they "validate" this debt, and send you copies of all bills and receipts, everything they used to calculate what they claim you owe. Include the "evidence" you have to show the bill was paid.

If they do not respond within 30 days, or if the information they supply does not properly show your debt, you have grounds to file a lawsuit.

If you follow this advice you will not hear from these people again.

1st thing to do is contact the hospitals billing department. If you fax them proof it will be there responsibily to correct the issue. If they do not correct the issue it could be considered fraud if they allow the collection to go on. It will then be their own responsibility to call off the collections agency and remove the item from your report.

I am all for credit disputes but if in this situation I would try to rectify the situation with the hospital. Credit disputes can take up to 30 days and all they do is verify the information with the collection agency. You name, SS#, DOB.. and then it may still come backl verified. The credit reporting agencies just check to see if they have the right person. They dont ask for proof of the debt.

Write a letter to each collection agency and send them copies of what you have. They will investigate it and remove it. Send a letter to the Hospital too asking them to remove it from your credit or update it as paid.

Make sure that it was covered and paid for by your insurer. If it was covered and you have receipts or other paperwork to prove that it has been paid for, a collection agency has no right to be asking you for money.

Make a copy of the bill that was paid & send it to the collection agency & they will see that it was paid & they'll stop calling. trust me I have done it

You should contct with credit companies and dispute the charge, and also you have to call collection company, send them copy of your payment and ask them stop collection,

    It usually take 45day.

    Good Luck
