SCOOP. it really ticks me off when people act like they don't know. this is the reason people hate dogs and why I can't take my dog to all the parks.

I always carry an extra bag and offer it to people who are caught without one... I am nice when I offer it, and I give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe they really just forgot. But I have had 2 people tell me "no thanks." Now that's just downright uncivilized.

Think of the "Gelden Rule" - how would you feel if someone else and their dog left something behind? It is not too difficult to take a couple little baggies with you, any type. Just put the bag over your hand, reach down and pick it up, then carefully turn the bag inside out, and voila! You have scooped, set a good example, and not even gotten your hands dirty.

We always scoop but our dogs are trained to go potty at home in the yard. I do not have to scoop very often. But I get really mad with neighbors that use a flexi lead to let their dogs poop on other peoples front yards and act like its perfectly alright to do.

Scoop. It's the people who look the other way that make it hard for the rest of us because they foul our parks and recreation areas. I advocate a $100 fine for looking the other way. Same with people throwing kids diapers and stuff out on the lawn.

Oh for those of you that don't know, POR-FRY-CHICKEN is an 8yo who hates dogs and cats. Just read his other questions!

    Always, always scoop.

Using a shopping bag works very well- turn it inside out as you scoop. Easy peasy.

I live right in the country side so my dog is the smallest thing 'leaving his mark' for miles.

I agree that owners should clean up after their dogs though, and horses!

The irony is the farmer sprays all kinds of Manure onto the very same fields!

My blind roommate thinks its a nice idea when people pickup their dog's poo.

Are you reading this, Melissa and Jason?

He's even stuggled to pick up his own guide dog's crap when he has had them in the past, not real easy when you can't see it.

If he can do it, or at least give it his best effort, it doesn't seem like too big a task for a sighted person.

Always - always - always. If I'm out in the desert and there's no one else around for 50 miles (and sometimes I am) and my dog drops a load I clean it up. People who don't clean up after their dogs are the only reason we are so limited in the places we can take our dogs. If you're not prepared to own up to your dog's business you have no business owning a dog.
