I had a friend that was in love with me and we try to be a couple and it didn't work and now we are not friend because of it. It is all up to you, if you don't want to be with him just tell him that you just want to be friends and nothing more. Sometime they act like they are your friend just to get in your pants and then when they do, they will leave and they want be your friend anymore, and some will want a relationship after they get in your pants. Just think about it really hard before doing anything.

Stop being friends with him because his dishonesty (playing like he was your friend) means he can't be trusted.

if you're feeling the same way he does, you should tell him that you feel the same way too.. if not, you should tell it to him too in a way that he won't feel rejected and make him understand that whatever happens, you'll always be friends.
