Why do us girls act so conceited?

in my opinion and thoughts, a lot of women and girls try to meet or excede expectations they see everyday (in magazines, tv, movies, etc) we are constantly in competition with all other females, and since looks do matter more then people liek to believe, it really does take a toll on us...thats why people never feel good enough about the way they look, or feel fat or ugly...i think some people like to pretend like this doesn't happen, but it really does, at least i experience it a lot...it's sad, but i am always working to look and feel better about myself

First off, this is a huge generalization.

Secondly, if the guys are the only ones doing the asking, then

the only way that women have to compete with each other over

guys is to make themselves more appealing than their competition.

However, that isn't conceit - that is vanity.

I think men and women are equally likely to be conceited.

Everyone should be concerned about their appearances. It is very healthy. Commercials and magazines have convinced most people that they are not happy unless they are drop dead gorgeous, which is NOT TRUE.

When we become preoccupied with fashion, shoes, makeup, etc etc, above all else and to the extent that we judge others, then the vanity becomes very ugly.

Beauty comes from how we behave and how we make other feel.

Its what make the F species Famous and special for.Its your birth right.Enjoy it! and let others enjoy it with your presentation in an appreciative way.

Its nothing wrong in felling proud of it.In fact most men like to see this proudness and witfulness in a girl they love.

But a caution should be there to avoid hurting others because of ones proudness.This is a perfect recipie for disasters in relations.

I will love such a beauty presented in the most gentle form than in an awkward form.

I don't act conceited. Actually, my self-esteem is pretty low. I know what you mean by SOME girls acting full of themselves, but guys are just as bad. I can't stand people who think their sh*t doesn't stink.

No honey...Why do SOME girls act conceited 'cause I'm not conceited...I HATE conceited people...s'pecially girls that think they're all that when they're nowehere near cute.

Why do you get dressed, put on heels , makeup, curl hair??? It makes women feel good about themselves to look her best. Its not conceited. As I am writing this, I am sitting here naked waiting for my sunless tan to dry so I can get dressed. Its an endless quest, sigh....

Because they are superficial, and worried about having the latest designer shoes or purses, dolled up faces and hair.

It's like competition to these girls.

Guys like when a girl cares about their appearance, but not when it is all they worry about.

Most people who are conceited are usually overcompensating for a poor self esteem.

I'm conceited because I'm pretty.... But I really couldn't care less about fashion, makeup, etc...
