Registered Nurses or Waitreses who makes more money?

My gf thinks waitresses make more or as much money as R. Nurses. Is she off her rocker? I think so but I need help seeing the other points of view. For instance she thinks that if you go to the restaurant and spend $100.00 she's taxed on that as opposed to only her tip which may be $5/$10 or $20 dollars. Can some waiters/waitresses out there clear this up for me?

Thanks

I think there may be times when waitresses make more money (like weekend nights) but otherwise, nurses definitely make more money and have more stable pay than waitresses. Waitresses have to depend on their tips, while most nurses get paid a decent hourly wage, sometimes salaried pay.

Most people leave a 20 percent gratuity at a restaurant. If a waiter/waitress has 6 tables and the average tab is 40 dollars then the waiter/ waitress makes 48 dollars an hour in Tips alone and that is not counting a salary.

Most Nurses get paid Salary or hourly and make less then that.

The other down side is that a waiter/ waitress only has to pick up crap off a table. Look where the nurse has to pick it up!!

Sure waitress makes lots of money under the table, but can they buy any houses or property( unless they declare all their earnings). In the long run the Nurse makes more because they can use what they make as an advantage toward buying more houses and properties and better Tax write off.
