Crooked Tooth after braces?

When the braces come off the teeth are not yet solidly in the sockets - the braces have been moving them and they will slowly settle in. Did he give you a retainer? If so you should wear it just the way he wants you to for best results. My teeth were in braces for 4 1/2 years and I eventually had jaw surgery. I didn't wear my retainer as often as I should have and my lower teeth are crooked again. Just cause the braces are off doesn't mean your're 'done' yet, be patient and do whatever he says. You invested this much time in him already, may as well let him finish up.

Wear your retainer and it should straighten out. If it does not, go back to the orthodontist and ask him about it. His job was to straighten your teeth and if one of them is crooked still, he needs to fix it.

Well if it doesn't fix itself, your orthodontist should be able to do something about it anyways, so I wouldn't fret too much.

p.s.~Wear your retainer even though it's annoying! It'll keep your teeth looking perfect. I didn't and now mine are just *almost* perfect.

Uh, yeah. He IS an Orthodontis. What the hell woud any of us on here know about braces and teeth.

who knows...just if you do one thing do this...WEAR YOUR RETAINER!!! i have one crooked tooth on the bottom from not wearing mine! and now i wish i woud have!!! the top looks nice and at least you cant see the bottom as much..but still...one week sounds pretty fast...i would go back if it doesn't straighten!!

Did he/she give you a retainer? If he/she did wear it so it will correct the crookedness of that tooth.

Wear it like he/she tells you to. do not argue with them.
