My puppy has horrible allergies.?

The vet put her on an oral antibiotic, but she is still sneezing, has a runny nose, sounds like she's coughing up hairballs, and has bloodshot eyes. I am taking her back to the vet this week, but just wondered if anyone else had had a prob like this with their dog. She is on IAMS Puppy. I thought it could be a food allergy, but she sneezing constantly when we take her on walks outside. THANK YOU!

Update:

I have an appt. at the vet this coming week, but just wanted to know if anyone else knew anything helpful!

Update 2:

They don't think this is a food allergy.... but I am switching her to Nutro.

Change your food. Iams is junk. Look for a food with no corn, soy, wheat, meat by-products. All of those are cheap fillers for the dog food company.

I feed Natural Balance Venison & Brown Rice Formula. My dog is allergic to chicken, wheat, eggs, lamb, and liver.

She suffers from Summer Itch. Very common in dogs. Sensitivity to grass during the spring/summer when the grass is active.

I spent close to $1000 at the vet on antibiotics and shampoo before I figured it out on my own. Most vets (there are a few) know nothing about animal nutrition. Food allergies are very often mis-diagnosed.

There are several good foods on the market. In addition to the one I feed there is Wellness, which makes excellent allergy formulas.

Most of commercial pet foods are 2/3 corn. Corn is a known allergen for some cats and dogs. More knowledgeable people here with give you good advice as to how to look into this problem.

You might want to look up BARF on the internet. That's for biologically appropriate raw food.

Dog raw diets are not difficult to do or to get the dog to accept. You can cook food for your dog too. It is much more difficult with cats. Cooking meat for cats destroys important nutrients which dogs and humans can process in their own bodies . Cats cannot. My cats have a raw meat diet.

my neighbor's dog had the same thing. she took it to the vet and her vet said generic benadryl (sp?) will do. she is on it to reduce her itching and sneezing from allergies and the dog is much better! call the vet to make sure. good luck.

you may desire to give up switching meals a lot. follow the Canidae for the two considered one of them considering's an all existence tiers foodstuff and is amazingly healthful and much less expenisve than different producers. it rather is not necessary to feed a domestic dog foodstuff. An all existence tiers foodstuff consisting of canidae is acceptable for the two considered one of your canines. do not enable your self run out of canines foodstuff back. unexpected ameliorations in weight loss application will reason gas, the runs, and different issues.
