messenger automatically loads when i turn my computer on. How do i stop it from automatically loading?

Log on. Go into the messenger window and open preferences. Go to the General screen and uncheck the option to start yahoo! automatically.

As in signs you in automatically?

Well sign out first. It should take you to a screen where it says sign in automatically. Take the check mark off that box.

Or go to preferences. Under general. Make sure there is no check next to automatically start Messenger.

you go up to edit (might be called something different) then find Edit Preferences (again, might be different, might be Settings) and find something labeled Connectivity (might be different etc) and uncheck the box labeled Open on Windows Startup (or something like that).

if thats not the problem. Start>All Programs>Startup

(messenger might be displayed in the startup folder which makes windows automatically start the program when starting windows).

Start / Run / type MSCONFIG and <enter>

click the STARTUP tab and find the messenger program .. uncheck the box and restart your machine.

go to settings on it and un check the box that says start when windows starts

if its !! msn messenger !! then go to TOOLS- then to OPTIONS- then to GENERAL- then the first box should say it

if its !! yahoo messenger !! then go to MESSENGER- then press control+shift+p and click on GENERAl and it should say it
