How do you have your dog let you know when she has to go potty?

Here are several good tricks that you can try.

1) Crate Training: Buy a small kennel or wire crate that you can keep in your house. Keep the dog's food and water there. Make sure it is big enough for the dog to live in comfortably, but not too large. The dog will not crap in the crate because they don't want to be near their own turds. Talk the dog for a walk about 30min to an hour after eating. The reward them when they go, and back to the crate again for the next feeding.

2) If you don't like the crate, try this. Find a small bell at the hardware store. The kind store owners hang from their entrance door so they know when someone enters. You can attach this bell to the door frame near your front door at a level the dog can reatch. Put peanut butter on the bell and show the dog and he/she will lick it off. When the bell rings, praise the dog and take him/her outside. Repeat this enough times, and the dog will learn to ring the bell when he needs to go outside.

You need to restrict her to a leash for now. Look for signs when she wants to go, such as circling, sniffing. If you catch her starting to do it, give her a sharp AHHH NO then take her outside to where you want her to go, give the command "Go potty" (or whatever you choose just use the same words all the time, keep it simple) when she goes praise her, Say "good girl, went potty" They learn through repetition and we need to learn to observe their signals and learn them and be consistent. Once she seems to be getting the hang of it, then you can let her go free in one room, where you are so that she can find you if she needs to go potty. If she is doing ok with that, increase it to two rooms so that she can learn how to find you to let you know she wants to potty. Keep going until she can find you in any room. If she seems to be having trouble, start again from the leash. 15 weeks is still very young and she may take a little while and a lot of training to get it right.

I trained my dogs this way and they bark at the door to go out to potty.

every time you take her out to pee, use the same door and take her to the same spot. them tie some bells on a rope around the door (you can get them at a craft store, or dollar store). ring the bells everytime you take the dog out. eventually the dog will investigate the bell itself, when she rings it take her righ tout to her potty spot. as she learns what this means, she'll ring the bell everytime she needs to go to the bathroom.

when you have a puppy u r supposed to take then out like every hour or something then after they go potty in the house take them outside so they kinda learn to go out side. my dog we said got to go potty or wanna go outside. in like a sceeck voice, and if she had to go she would perk up.

if she lives inside, the best thing to do , is every few hours, take her to the door , and outside, and say toilet , and toilet , and basically , when she does toilet, praise her alot .

Keep doing this for a while.

We have got our dog so well trained now , that she will go to the door , and lift her paw, and knock on the door , to notify us , she wants to go outside to the toilet, and even knock on the door to come back in again.

We never took her to any dog school , we trained her all ourselves, with help from our other dog ( now passed away ), who never went to a Dog School either, we trained him all ourselves.

well........ my dog usually wakes me up, early in the morning, or sometimes he scratches the door because he wants to go out to potty.

I have Christmas bells hanging from my doorknob. My dog pulls the bells to chime them and we know he wants to go out.

usually they wine . my puppy does. he wines in the early morning. try to listen if she wines. usually they squat or give you sad eyes. try taking here outside about 5-10 minutes after she eats and drinks thats i do

My dog whines at the door, or runs to me and back to the door. If I say 'Do you wanna go wee-wee's', her ears go up and she becomes even more alert, as if she's saying yes.
