most retail stores(target, jc penny, etc) starts hiring young people at 16.
heres the best way to get your application noticed.... fill out an application at a store. Ask for the name of the person who in charge of hiring people then call them or leave a messsage for them. hopefully they will look up your application to find out who you are and might give you a chance. it has worked for me.
good luck

If it's your first job, do retail(Circuit City, Best Buy, CompUSA, etc.). You learn a lot about technology there which is a plus in most jobs later on but as soon as you think you've learned enough, get out of it.
Then move onto an office kind of job, like in a computer testing lab or maybe as some kind of office assistant depending on what field you're into.

At the age of 16 my favorite job was working in a clothing store. I met lots of people (esp. guys). Discount on clothes, short hours, and best of all a paycheck.
If you want to work in an office (which may be boring at the age of 16), then I suggest working for a company that gives early college credits.

Apply at fast food places and retail stores.
But don't put ads here on Yahoo Answers. That is not what this site is for

Go around town and ask people about job positions. You can also find places that are hiring in your local newspaper. Give it a shot, bro.
