Why are there no good games?

I agree and I ask the same question. 2006 has been a horrible year for games. There are quite a few games which stand out.

I think the reason is 2006 has been a time for major change in consoles. Every console is getting into next-gen. Xbox to Xbox360, PS2 to PS3 and GC to Wii. 2006 has been famous for this huge platform upgrade. Everybody is eager to see the battle of consoles rather than battle of games. But just be patient, and look what games we are going to see in 2007:

1. GTA 4

2. Max Payne 3

3. Halo 3

4. Resident Evil 5

5. Unreal Tournament 2007

6. Ninja Gaiden 2

7. Never Winter Nights 2 [oct-2006]

8. Call of Duty 3

9. Madden NFL 07

10. Smackdown vs Raw 2007

11. Tekken 6

12. FEAR 2

13. Metroid Prime 3

14. Metal Gear Solid 4

15. Twilight Princess on Wii.

So I think that will make us forget about 2006 quite quickly. And start saving money for these massive releases, if you are a real gamer.

People generally spend more money from Thanksgiving to Christmas (especially parents who still can't figure out the ratings). Higher sales lead to bigger bonuses for the execs, therefore they try to hold release dates for most games until this time. Not the most customer-centric approach, but it's the way the system works.

Maybe the Summer is intended for us to be outside and active instead of being stuck inside watching tv screens!!

If your so pissed off about the lack of games just wait until november when PS3 and Wii comes out then more Xbox360 games will come out.
