Why is the U.N. the most worthless organization in the world?

The main reason the UN is so worthless --and always has been-- is it was founded on a flawed premise: the basic idea that all nations are equal and willing to work toward a common good. So we ended up with the notion that the People's Free Democratic Republic of Dungeon (ever notice, the more repressive the government, the more high-sounding the name?), population six, has an equal say in the governing of the world as the US with 290 million. The USSR, and later, the CIS took advantage of this by enrolling each of the soviet republics --all eleven, in addition to Russia itself-- as independent members. Top that off with the reality that 65-70% of all countries are run by some ex-colonel and band of illiterate AK-47 toting tribal "freedom fighters" or are governed on the "one vote, one candidate, one time" model and there is the exact recipe for the organizational disaster that is the UN.

Maybe because most of the countries on the security council don't do any thing. All the UN does is write sanctions and tell other countries to stop what they are doing. They really don't have any power. its nothing more then a place were Nations can go and meet to work out problems. The problem you have is that only three countries America, Britain, and Canada are doing all of the work. You look at history every major dispute has never been resolved with words it always falls upon a few countries to use force to resolve it. And it always looks like its these three countries have to shoulder the burden. Sure the other countries join in to help but only after the fighting has stopped. and then they try to take the Credit. that's why the UN is outdated

last months 4 soldiers of its peace keeping force were killed by the army of a member nation in the UN, How did UN react? how can we expect world peace to be protected by the UN?

The only beneficiaries of the UN organization are those who are getting extremely high salaries from the UN, staying in best Hotels and enjoying expensive food,

The vast majority of it's memebers are dictators, communists, monarchies, and other tyrannies. Most of the rest are socialist democracies or too insignificant to matter. There are very few members that are couragous enough or important enough to be meaningful. What do you expect from an organization like that?

U.N. is the immerged part of the Iceberg, named New World Order...

Why are you so stupid?? Try looking up all the good that the UN has done. They are the Court of the world. Without them we would have war upon war. We need the UN or some kind of Governing Body.

because virtually every country there now, is only looking out for their own interest.

For example, Russia, and France voted against the war in Iraq because they had oil contracts with Saddam. By voting to go to war, even though it was the right thing to do, they may have put their country in economic stress.

Because they talk about doing something forever and then when they finally do make a resolution it goes unenforced and meanwhile the problem just gets worse and worse and worse.
