What are my options regarding Kidney Abcess with Kidney Stones?

My dr. set me up with an appointment to talk about my options regarding how to treat a cyst and large kidney stone. They also want to biopsy the cyst. He didn't discuss with me what the options are, does anyone have any ideas? Thanks I'm really scared.

Update:

I have Kaiser so I really doubt they would suggest surgery if they didn't think I needed it. The Dr.s get paid a wage so it doesn't benefit them to do surgery.

I've had 14 kidney stones since age 15. With a large stone, you don't have any options other than having it removed. Don't be a hero, take the surgery. The guy above me is full of crap. I've tried everything to relieve the pain of stones including those natural remedies, and the best thing to do is to take the pain meds and drink lots of fluids, and if they recommend surgery, do it. Trying to past a large stone can lead to kidney damage and failure. Your doctor knows best.

Doctors get paid the most for surgeries, and the least for drug free therapies so I would expect a surgery to be one option he recommends. It's also likely he will want to break the stone ultrasonically then let it pass naturally. No matter how small they break it, it will HURT when it passes. Luckily you will already be at the hospital when it starts. It's still probable that he will want to remove the cyst after the stone passes.

I have had more than a few kidney stones in the past. Three I have passed in ERs, and they were a most painful experience. Two other stones I have been shown on X-rays then treated myself with herbs (Cleavers Tea and Bucu the first time, and "Stone Breaker" and magnesium supplements the second time). My Urologist was amazed to see the stones gone with no dramatic or painful passing. With my changes in diet and an increase in my daily water intake I plan on never seeing him again.

Your problem with cysts is likely to heal itself if you can remove the cause of your body creating them. Carbonated beverages are the most common cause of cysts, and also lead to dehyration and kidney stones. No more Coke. You may have heard that the acid in Coke will dissolve kidney stones and protect your kidneys. That's not true. Acids from fruit, especially cranberries and grapefruit, will raise the acidity of your urine and increase the flow through your kidney helping them heal limiting the chances of infection.

All this said I have not seen you, or your kidneys and your doctor has. So please talk to him, but remeber there may be less painful , expensive, and invasive options than the ones he recommends.

Good luck, I hope you feel better and heal better.

No. Kidney stones style via fact of the two a metabolic concern or a existence-type concern- no longer via a failure of the kidneys rather. The metabolic issues would be controlled with drugs and weight loss plan adjustments, and the existence-type issues are terrific addressed via ingesting greater liquid and going to the bathing room greater many times. A kidney transplant might in basic terms supply you a clean kidney to tear up, it does not end stones from forming lower back. The medical look after a kidney stone that's caught demands surgical treatment- yet no longer removal of the kidney. The kidney itself is working high quality, and there in basic terms isn't a would desire to change it. you may desire to handle the clarification the stones style to start with, no longer get rid of the section being affected.

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.

They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!

This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.

It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.
