The meaning of life, amigo mio, is an unanswerable question from any logical point of view that keeps romantics like you and I awake at night.

"Meaning" is a term and idea created by humans. Just because we coin a word or phrase doesn't make it a reality. I mean, we have a word for Dragon and Leprachaun too but they aren't real.

When we talk about meaning we talk about something having significance. If the thing doesn't have significance to us we don't give it meaning. This means that meaning is relative between two or more things and is only present in the ones that the significance in question pertains to.

For example say we have a group of 10 people. 4 are musicians, 3 are stone-workers, 2 are both, and 1 is a fool (knows neither). If we present the group with a symphony recording, 6 of the 10 will give it meaning. If we show the group a stone statue, 5 of the 10 will give it meaning.

Since there is no "absolute" meaning, it can be said that it doesn't really exist...so each individual makes up their own. Perhaps doing this provides some form of comfort.

    Mirriam Webster's Opinion:

    Main Entry: life

    Pronunciation: 'lif

    Function: noun

    Inflected Form(s): plural lives /'lIvz/

Etymology: Middle English lif, from Old English lIf; akin to Old English libban to live -- more at LIVE

1 a : the quality that distinguishes a vital and functional being from a dead body b : a principle or force that is considered to underlie the distinctive quality of animate beings c : an organismic state characterized by capacity for metabolism, growth, reaction to stimuli, and reproduction

2 a : the sequence of physical and mental experiences that make up the existence of an individual b : one or more aspects of the process of living <sex life of the frog>

    3 : BIOGRAPHY 1

4 : spiritual existence transcending physical death

5 a : the period from birth to death b : a specific phase of earthly existence <adult life> c : the period from an event until death <a judge appointed for life> d : a sentence of imprisonment for the remainder of a convict's life

6 : a way or manner of living

    19 capitalized, Christian Science : GOD 1b

    20 : something resembling animate life <a grant saved the project's life>

My Opinion: The meaning or reason for life is to leave this world a better place for your grandchildren. It about having respect for yourself, humanity and the earth. To truly appreciate the life we're given.

It's very hard for me to choose one thing that's most important to me. Some things are very important, but nearly impossible for one individual to change, like the well-being of the earth and humanity. Being close to my family, my friends and the earth is most important.

So many great philopshers have had many conflicting hyopthesis on the meaning of life, including Plato, Homer, and Einstein. Those 3 although all theorized that life in itselfs is one gigantic hole, in which you have to survive and do your very best to accomplish that what is most pleasing. Einstein varied from that a little bit in saying that life is like a series of numbers and each individual number represents a variable in which you can choose what the varible represents.

Although my beliefs are a tad different about life, that is pretty much what I think, but most of all life is fun.

I am trying to live my life so when my life comes to a close

I will leave behind a testimonial to my existence. This testimonial

will live in the memories I helped create while I was alive. I believe a person's worth is determined not by material things acquired but what kind of memories are left behind.

Tough question, it's different for everyone because we all value different things in life. For me it's family, after all they are all we really have in this life. I've had to opprotunity to travel the world with the Marines, and the one thing I noticed is that everyone wants to be loved, and feel a part of a family. Above and beyond education, travel and money, we all need that feeling of belonging to something that transends all those material things in this very materialistic world that we live in today.

In life , which is short, only about a century, we must love someone. That's is because:

    LIFE IS LOVE!!!!!

Life starts at birth. Birth starts when farther and mother love each other. Therefore life depends on love. We are responsible for giving birth to the world. If so, we need to love someone.

    LIFE IS WORTHWHILE LOVING SOMEONE!!!!!

If there is not love, the world will disappear. If there is not love , birth does not exit. If birth does not exist, life does not exist. If life does not exist, the world does not exist. Therefore we must love someone and give birth to the world.

As much as saying that living your life to the fullest is the best answer here, it must be more defined than that. To be able to live life to the full, one must take a lot of risks in order to achieve many goals. But in a world that is becoming more demonic, the common goal we must share is to love one's neighbor. If we can all do that as our purpose, the meaning of our life is clearer. The way God intended it to be.

IMO~To love, learn & grow spiritually, survive, and go Home.

What's most important to me in life is:

    God/Love/Family

Treating people, animals and nature the way I would want to be treated, like a product of God.
