How first day back in school is celebrated in your country?

In Lebanon, its generally a slow day. We all hug and kiss each other before classes start and we catch up on each others news. Then we check what section of a grade we're in and we go to that section. That's gonna be our class for the whole entire year. All the students of the same grade learn the same subjects but becoz of the amount of students in each grade we're split that way. The only difference between section A and Section B is the teachers.

Anyways when we get to our classes, we talk some more, and teachers start coming in according to our daily schedule and we get to know them and they start asking about us and asking what we want to achieve through the year. The math teacher is the only one who starts explaining from day one and he/she always gives homework.

well I know anyone that has to drive through a school zone curses the first day of school because now we have to watch for morons that think my breaks were specifically designed to stop when they feel like crossing in front of me.

But little that they know I don't break until I am literally 2 inches from the kid and once I made a girl pee her pants before school when she made eye contact with me and still decided to step in front of my car!! She was embarressed and I just said out the window, "Bet next time you won't step in front of a car you see passing?"

With much groaning by the students and jubilation by the parents.
