    Try to find out what he likes then talk about that. Something he'd be really comfortable talking about.

    Talk to him in person instead, that way you two can see the looks on each other's faces. You both might end up saying too much on the phone. Phones are weird; they make you feel like you HAVE to talk, and you don't want to hang up either. Trust me, talking in person will be much better. Oh, yeah, if you're on the phone you shouldn't be on the Internet. He will feel uncomfortable talking to you if you seem too busy. Good luck!
