Work and school... best recommended path?
I work at a Del Taco and I'm planning on getting a bachelor's degree in art, specifically animation. The only reason I have the job is to help pay for my wants and certain needs that are costly which my parents refuse to pay. Does anyone have any recommendations as to what sort of jobs might be a good idea to get?

Get an internship!!!! They are available in almost any field (including art) and you will often get college credit. And not all internships are unpaid - I had one in college and it was paid. (Not a lot, but it was something.)
Taking an internship was the smartest thing I ever did and it led me directly to my first job: the company hired full-time me just days after I graduated. It would have been so much harder to get an "in" if I didn't have that experience.
Also, check with the student services office at your school and look for work/study programs that will allow you to work either on campus or off.

Try a newspaper if you have a camera, you might be able to go around your local area taking pictures for the paper and sale them
If not, I hate to say this if your walmart has a photo lab, ask for an application. They get paid good money and the equipment is wonderful to work with pictures with which might get you into the split world of realism to anima.
Good luck with what ever you do.
