    Ocracoke Island, NC, on the outer banks; no cars and only accessible by ferry. It has been named among the top beaches in the country. Very little development, clean beach, nice waves.

    Wrightsville Beach in Wilmington, North Carolina, nice beach, high waves, not crowded
