What are some healthy activities to keep a 65 year old retired single man busy?

My father has moved to the Atlanta area and it's time to get him an active social life. We're trying to come up with things that will keep him healthy, active, and social. Looking for specific ideas in volunteering, church, etc.

Golf - It keeps you physically active without overdoing it and you meet other people when you get added to four-somes.

skirt chasing? a tad dangerous, but i'll bet he'll _really_ enjoy it. :)

seriously though, try contacting state literacy groups. right now, because of NCLB, tutors are in high demand. he can work with kids (and get paid) or work with adults as a volunteer.

have your father go single functions and meet new people that way, he could really enjoy himself again ,also i signed my mother up on the inter net to meet new people safely.
