Does anyone remember what kind of type of Goverment the Constitution guarantees America?

Section 4.

The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.

It doesn't guarantee any form of government to the country as a whole, except as defined in Article I.

And Article I as originally enacted provides for a mixed-representative government, with one chamber (the House) representing the people of the nation, and the other chamber (Senate) representing the states. Remember that originally, Senators were selected by the individual state legislatures, because they didn't represent the people of the states, they represented the state governments directly.

Article IV Section 3: "Section 4. The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union a republican form of government"

That means that each state must follow a republican (representative democratically elected) form of government, and prevents the states from having non-elected dictators.

You're also applying only one of several definitions of the word 'democracy', to reflect pure decision-making by the people with no elected officials. But here's another dictionary definition: "A political system in which the supreme power lies in a body of citizens who can if they choose elect people to represent them"

So, by definition, the Constitution grants to the nation as a whole a representative democracy, and guarantees to each state a republic for that state.

A true democracy is impossible in the US. For democracy to exist, every person should be able to debate and directly vote on all matters of government. The American government was designed to be a republic, though it could be correctly called a represenative democracy since senators are now directly elected.

If memory serves, the U. S. of A. is a federal republic of individual states, with more than a hint of representative democracy.
