I have a dental condition ... looking for free or low cost help?

I think it s called pyoria or something like that. I have severe tooth decay ... with brushing, flossing and using mouth rinses. The teeth decay and crumble apart. The pain is sometimes unbearable. Quite a few of my teeth are broken below the gum line. I am trying to find a source of free or low-cost dental surgery to remove nearly all but 4-6 bottom teeth. I got an estimate for surgery and it will cost me $6000 USD. Our insurance will only cover $1000 USD total for life/family.

This dental condition interferes with healthy eating and causes other health problems as well. I have been suffering with this condition for over 10 years. I can't find decent employment because of my condition either. Smiling and taking my picture is just impossible for me.

Dental Surgery and Dental Implants is very safe nowadays. It is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges Dental surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.

I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as obesity surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your eye surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

My cousin got her Dental Surgery in India through the forerunners healthcare .She is more than very happy with the results. She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company.hope this helps

Wow..that's rough. I'm sure it's painful too. Definitely try the dental school option as tangerine19 already suggested. I think that's your best bet. Also try finding a dentist who would be willing to put you on an affordable payment plan. And try to convince your insurance company to cover more of the cost. Maybe if you explain to them the severity of your situation, and that this is not simply a cosmetic issue but a health issue, they might budge and cover more of the cost.

Sit with your telephone and phone book and call every dentist in your area and see if anyone would be willing to put you on a payment plan. They might also know of certain dental insurance plans that cover a large amount of the cost. Also try going to dental offices and ask to speak directly to the dentist. Take a book and wait for them and I'm sure plenty will be willing to take a quick look at your teeth between appointments and give you some options and maybe offer you some information regarding dental insurance plans you might be unaware of. If they're kind enough they might even give you discounted rates when they see the severity of your problem. Whatever you do, stay focused on getting this problem cleared up.

By the way, if you're ever in alot of dental pain, take an antibiotic, since it's been difficult for you to go see a dentist. I hope it all works out for you.

*EDIT: There's some helpful information here too:

See if there is a dental school in your area.

Dental schools need people with teeth problems to serve as patients for their students. It is all very well supervised by professors who themselves are dentists.

While the care is not free, it is cheaper than going to a dentist. You also have access to cutting-edge technology and techniques because the schools are always looking for ways to make dental practice better.

    Good luck!
