Question about heart rate.?
I started swimming as an aerobic activity. I cant seem to get my heartrate above 135 before my arms and legs give out and i have to stop for a bit. Is this heartrate high enough to consider this an aerobice activity? I'm 25 years old if that helps.

It takes time for your body to become accustomed to working out in water. Water is of a very different density than air, so the gravity is all warped and that may take getting used to. Swimming is regarded as one of the best full-body exercises a person can do and you'll find yourself using muscles that you never even knew you had. Also, make sure you're swimming with your head in the water at least part of the time - the fact that you can't breathe all the time will definitely challenge you aerobically.

aerobic activity is about 80% maximum heart rate. Maximum heart rate is usually founf by subtracting your age from I think 200, but maybe as high as 220. This is just a rough-ament, because obviously different fitness levels will make that higher. So about 160 bpm.

fat burning rate from about 125-150 depending on age if you go to170 its cardio.so you should be ok if its fat burning you want.

yes this should burn fat...I'm 30 and keep mine at 130 and its working for me.. if your trying to condition you need to go higher,
