Has anyone had a tattoo removed by laser? Do you have any scarring?

I just had my second treatment and im worried about it leaving a scar..Any suggestions on the best laser treatment or a way to prevent scarring?

yes I have , I had one on my upper arm removed by laser, which just means they burn it off, it was pretty deep and they had to remove quite a bit of flesh to get all of it, it took about a year to fully heal and it left raised scars, they put steroids in the scars ( via needles) to eliminate them. that was several years ago, now there is still a small outline of scarring but not noticable. now it only looks like I was in a knife fight. I think the process has been improved and you may not have any trouble at all.

It does leave behind raised scars...depending on your skin color some can be very noticeable...I'd suggest removal if it really bothers you....if not you might want to get another tattoo done over the old one, it will look nice and you wont have the scar or have to deal with the healing time which can take quite a long time.

i dont think there is a scar unless you had some scarring from the original tattoo (which many people do) ... i would ask a specialist at a clinic tho before you make your decision and go for a consultation. there will still be skin discolouration and sometimes the ink doesnt fade completely
