why can't you....?
edit your own question, respond to people individually on your question page, or remove people's responses if you don't want them there?
1st, I can't rate anyone yet. 2nd, I understand why you can't edit your question, no thanks the reasons pointed out... although i think it's silly, cuz that's not what I would do.
But what's wrong with removing answers???? If *I* don't like it, it has nothing to do with my question, it's just silly or whatever, I just simply don't want to look at it or want others to look at, simple as that!!! I want real answers, not just responses that show someone's just bored.
thanks for the replies to a seemingly silly question. no, I wasn't annoyed with anyone's answer in here, just a couple of questions I posted previously.

As I see you have done here, you CAN edit your question, by using the "Add Details" feature.
If there are answers that do not apply to your question, you CAN have them removed, by reporting them as abuse. There is an action bar under every Q & A. On that action bar is a flag icon. That is the "Report Abuse" button.
You can NOT have an answer removed, if it DOES directly answer your question, just because you do not like it or disagree with it. Any answer that violates the Community Guideline or Terms of Service CAN and WILL be removed if it is reported.

I hope this properly answers your questions.

I think they don't let you edit the question because they don't want you messing with people. Like lets say you get answers then you go and change the question to mean something completely different. You can respond to people by adding details and you can remove responses by either removing the question or giving a thumbs down, though the thumbs down only removes it from your view.

Answers like Hi or OK or something short like that are answers because people are bored and are looking for points. I didn't read any answer on here that represented someone that was bored any more then anyone who visits Y!A are. If you don't like someones answer because it is abusive or spam or not an answer report it, but if it answers your question, whether you agree with the answer or not, it will not be removed. Sounds to me, with the added details that you would, if they gave you that power, remove any answers that you don't agree with and that's is why Y!A doesn't give the power to the asker to remove a response to their question. Because then everyone will just remove answers they don't like. And if you want the power to vote, just keep answering questions till you reach the level that gives you that power.

Well, you can edit your question by modifying it, and if you click on the person's answer you liked or something, you just click their name and then you are at their page and click contact this person or something like that. But I don't know how to remove responses because I don't ask a lot of questions.

I think if the answers were abusive then you should be able to remove them. I was thinking that too just now. Especially when I want a vote on a question but I seriously didn't want some of those answers to be there. Yeah, it's kind of sad.
:(
- How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer.

You can modify your question.. you can also respond individually, if they have contact info on their profiles, and, you can Rate the answers and that basically removes them from YOUR view, anyway..

you can't edit your own question because if you suddenly decide to change it, the yahoo!police (i call them) will have a harder time detecting idiotic questions.
responding individually is "chatting" or whatever.
and removing people's responses is not nice.

why would you want to delete someone just because you do not like their advice or answer. why ask if your only looking for people to agree with you? and yanswers make it hard to reply to certain people because chatting is against the TOS of this site.

you can edit/add-to the question..you cannot remove answers...You can rate any answerr.....Also many people such as myself cannot be contacted by anyone on yahoo answers ,except yahoo

Good question! I also put myself this question. I hope that someone who knows, will answer, or maybe someone from Yahoo.
