What does it feels like while wearing a headgear?

For the most part people with braces wear their head gear when they go to bed.

What a head gear does is put pressure on the teeth and cause them to shift in direction over time.

As a result of the pressure and slight movement of teeth there is discomfort during the long term procedure.

luckily, when i had to wear headgear, it was over the summer, so i could wear it all day at home. the first few days, the back of my neck and my back teeth hurt, so i just took some motrin or tylenol and watched a couple of movies the entire day. i was kind of self-concious about sitting in front of windows, but that kind of passed... if possible, try to wear it more, so that you don't have to wear it as long.

I had braces for two years, and I wore my head gear only at night. Right after dinner, I'd put it on, and take it off in the morning before going to school. No, it didn't make me more shy. It really is worth it. You will have a beautiful smile. I do.

When I had braces I had to wear a head gear and a neck gear. I didn't like it at first, but one thing my dad said was, "people may make fun of you but you will have the prettiest teeth afterward, so don't worry abut it", and that really helped me.

head gear is to be worn at night i had braces for 3 qnd a half years. head gear is a strap for the back of your neck with two plasic things on each side with holes on them the medal piece it has is seperate but it goes in your mouth in the sides of usually your canines you slip each side in and take one side of the head geat and use the 3rd notch on it and swing it around back and use the third notch on the other side as well but hold it in on the other side. it hurts for a while but you get use it eventually

i was self-conscious, for sure. then it died down because i thought to myself, what am i to do....can't do anything about, i need it.
