How you keep a ceiling fan from making noise?
It seems like to goes off balance on high and medium - the low speed it doesn't have any sound. Any ideas?

When that happens to ours, we tighten the screws where the fan base attaches to the ceiling as well as the screws where the fan blades are attached.

Creat a stationary way of mounting a pencil or chalk close to the blades. I used a stick upon which I put my elbow. Then turn the fan on so it turns in the direction that causes the lower edge to trail (its a good idea to keep your head out of the blade swing area). Now the blade is turning on the slow speed and you slowly move your chalk closer and closer until ot makes a mark on one blade. Either bend that one up or the others down depending on what would be easiest. Rinse and repeat until each touches at the same time. If it still wiggles check out the amout that the blades rotate, viewing frome the end of the blade. You know are they all reading 3:20 o'clock, or is one at 6:00. Makes no differance if it's AM or PM. If it was dropped or something one may not have the same degree of twist. This will need to be corrected by applying pressure in graduated amounts of pressure preferably start at the light touch and moving up. If you've got them all reading 3:47 or whatever, then start over with step one because you just ruined the initial alignment, probably only on the blade you are working on. Took me an hour half of which was spent moving the bed out from under it, and back

Make sure the fan was installed properly to begin with. A regular ceiling box for lightweight lights is not strong enough; fans require mounting boxes that have braces connected to the ceiling joists.
Not mounting the fan correctly can cause the box to loosen. This in turn will loosen up the mounting hardware; this is usually just an annoyance but can lead to wires coming loose inviting an electrical fire or the fan breaking loose from the ceiling.
