Why do some use boredom as an excuse to be cruel to others?

I would think that it's not so much as boredom but their own sense and fear of insecurity. It leads them to desire causing cruelty on others so that they can feel superior and better about themselves.

I don't think it's an excuse at all, moreover I feel when I'm bored out of my mind, the last thing I want to do is to be around people who're all smiles, cheerful, full of excitement, etc.

I'd retreat to my little corner and mope is what I do=P

However, I do feel different people have different ways of coping with it. Some use sarcasm, a sharp wit, to deal with boredom but certainly not to be cruel at least not intentionally.

I believe that perhaps someone may use boredom as an excuse to be cruel to another person if maybe that person was feeling things on top of boredom such as frustation, anxiety,hidden emotions,and maybe even depression.

I don't think it's boredom, it sounds like something else.

people show a boring attitude not to be cruel to others,but to avoid them.one feels bore when he/she is not in an interesting company and is not enjoying.so to avoid being dragged on and on

Because they lack the intelligence to come up with a better answer much less behavior:-)

its not the boredom its their immaturity that makes them do that

because in their ignorance, they have no sense to think for themselves or the well being of others. it's a sad world, but we should all do our part to help others.

They say that because they not only are heartless, but they also have no clue how to use their brain.
